CHARACTER NAME: Akagi
CHARACTER AGE: 25
CANON: Azur Lane (Official Game Wiki | TV Tropes for additional info)
CANON POINT: Post Ode of Everblooming Crimson
CRAU INFO: N/A
SUITABILITY: Akagi is an aircraft carrier, a machine of war personified. She is made for war and fighting and can take a hit and dish one out. Other KAN-SEN, regular ships, people, and god-like beings, she can handle them all and faces them regularly. Akagi's whole existence is to fight and protect humanity from existential, time-traveling, trans-dimensional threats, namely the Sirens. While also pursuing the goal of defending her country. So yes, Akagi can handle being sent out on missions to defeat monsters of all sorts, shapes, and sizes; gain is something she does daily! For her, it will simply be another Tuesday.

While her mind is fragile, her honed experience has only strengthened her resolve to see whatever job is given to her is done and her resilience in the face of adversity.

She brings active combat experience and strategic insight to the table in whatever struggles she and those around her might face. LILITH might see Akagi as a potential commander, having been accustomed to commanding whole fleets of mass-produced ships and other shipgirls. Or, at the very least, someone who is incredibly adept at solving problems and creating a plan of action (both short-term and long-term). Something that has been seen time and again throughout her canon. She is shown as manipulative, capable of swaying and forcing others to do whatever she wants, and capable of leading others to victory.

Both of these are shown during her game with Nagato and Mikasa. While she might not be as great of a strategist as Mikasa, she had still shown herself more than capable of holding her own against the revered veteran. Akagi had been able to get her to merge forces with Nagato, the chosen leader of the Sakura Empire, and to move her forces away from the ultimate victory goal—all the while, she had very effectively her allies as pawns in their game. The result is Akagi's ultimate victory and her gaining Musashi's aid in her struggle for power and ultimate goal: the revival of her dear sister, Amagi.

Additionally, her combat experience, abilities, and general status as a KAN-SEN make her extremely difficult to injure or kill. She is incredibly durable, both physically and mentally, and can both take punishment and dish punishment back out ten times as hard.

Above all, what would most certainly grab LILITH's attention is that Akagi brings firepower to the table. Both literally and in the sense that, as the personification of an aircraft carrier, she is capable of creating aircraft and performing all the functions of a warship, albeit one that is the size and shape of a woman. She also has additional abilities that would give her the edge in almost any fight she might find herself in. Akagi is no pushover and has been shown as being more than capable of dealing with beings able to alter the fabric of time and space. She is a hammer, a bomb that can be dropped and used to change the tide of battle, to bathe everything in a sea of crimson flames as her aircraft roars above, dominating the skies.

To put it bluntly, any threat that LILITH will send Akagi against will be up against the wall, and Akagi is the fucking wall.

As for loyalty - while Akagi is incredibly opinionated and cunning, she'd still be willing to work alongside LILITH. Perhaps not without question or acting as she might see fit, depending on the situation. She is still used to being commanded and will actively follow a chain of command even when she might not fully agree. In short, Akagi will not go against LILITH outright and will have no problems performing more problematic commands. For her, the ends will always justify the means. And if that one bus full of people was in the way? Then, she may write it off as accidental collateral.

That said, Akagi can also be expected to always place humans first and foremost in her mind and actions. As with all KAN-SEN, she is expected to serve and protect humanity to the best of her abilities. Something that's compounded with her burning sense of twisted love and duty, she can be expected to go well above what she needs to do to accomplish a task. Even if it means that, in the end, what she has to do will go against what she wants.

In the end, Akagi's abilities as a KAN-SEN, her status as a functioning, person-sized aircraft carrier, her ability to survive and overcome even the harshest of conditions, her strategic mindset, and overall loyalty to mankind would be of great interest and help to LILITH and its goals.
Please list a thorough suitability section here. Why would LILITH choose your character to help? What shit have they seen in their days? Can they handle being sent on missions to defeat monsters? Why do you think so? Additionally, we do not allow plots that pit characters against LILITH so please explain how your characters will cooperate and work alongside LILITH even if they disagree with some of their policies. Characters under the age of 14 will receive a more strict judgment.

PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Positives –
Loyal: ”I will do anything for Commander’s sake. Even if I must kill a god~”

Akagi might enjoy placing herself on a pedestal at the expense of others, but that doesn’t mean she will completely throw people under the bus. One of her best traits is that she is fiercely loyal and dedicated to those she holds dear, her home, and humanity in general. Even going so far as to put aside her general hatred and dislike for those, she might not like to help the Commander (the player) back home accomplish their mission or goals. The general likelihood of her stabbing someone in the back or entirely going against their wishes is generally minimal at best.

Instead, what a person can expect from her is for Akagi to put their well-being above her own. And for her to go well out of her way for them. No matter how she talks or acts, if someone has Akagi on their side, there won't be much for them to worry about.

Protective: In addition to being loyal, Akagi is fiercely protective of those she’s close to or her comrades. Following Amagi’s death, Akagi became the type to worry about the health and well-being of others. Her protective nature can be seen in the extreme during a scene with the Commander after she notices that they have a scar. That blemish, as minor as it was, had caused her to fret over their well-being and begin hounding them over where it came from. As murderous at times as she might be, Akagi does have a caring personality and typically doesn’t enjoy seeing the people she cares for being harmed in any way. She will often grow anxious whenever she notices them in danger. At times, obsessively so.

Ultimately, she is very well-meaning and often goes out of her way to ensure everyone's safety, even when it doesn't seem like it.

Confident: She carries herself with bravado and a sense of self-assuredness. Akagi is very confident in her abilities and judgment (though this has taken a hit following recent in-game events). She exudes a strong sense of self-determination and very rarely falters in it. Akagi's confidence can viewed in everything, from how she dresses to her tendency to flirt with others to how she talks. Even when defeated, she doesn't show much concern, treating it as something trivial to overcome. One of the few times that her confidence was shaken was the event "Ode of Everblooming Crimson," when she realized that all her machinations had failed when she failed to resurrect Amagi and lost Kaga. Leading her already fragile mind to fracture and become self-destructive.

While Akagi has certainly learned from that, showing signs of having grown calmer, humbler, and of a sound mind, she still needs that strong sense of confidence. It's part of who she is and how she functions.
Clever: Akagi is incredibly clever and capable of forming overly complex plans that catch others flat-footed and surprised. Her machinations had caused most of everything she had done in canon. Through the years, she has become well-versed as a strategist and planning for the future, able to manipulate, lead, and command others to do as she wants. All to reach one specific goal and conclusion – the return of her sister, Amagi. In the game, Akagi had revealed that she is the one who manipulated the Sakura Empire into attacking the Eagle Union and plunged the world into chaos. That said, she is more than capable of thinking her way out of a problem and solving a problem, just as she is at creating a problem.

Negative-

Prideful: Akagis’ confidence has, unfortunately, also led to her being horrifically prideful and vain. Which acts as both a crutch and mask for any inadequacies she might feel and a sense of superiority over others. She holds herself up to higher standards than others, which can lead to her becoming somewhat fragile when she’s unable to meet those standards. That pride is potentially the most damaging thing about her, as the failure of her pride in her confidence can lead to her more destructive tendencies and a feeling of self-loathing, which happens during the game’s last story event. Where she ultimately succumbs to her META-self at the death of her ego. It was ultimately merging her and erasing her existence. Leaving Akagi’s place was a personification of her obsession that had led to so much pain and the ultimate, brief demise of both herself and Kaga.

Manipulative: As noted above, Akagi is clever and has no problems manipulating others to do as she pleases. As long as the ends justify the means, Akagi will go to great lengths to see that she will accomplish her goals, as reflected during her game with Musashi, Nagato, and Mikasa, where she had treated her allies as near disposable pawns to secure a victory. As much care and love Akagi has for her friends and allies, Akagi is not above using them for her gains. It doesn’t matter much to her what bodies she needs to step over to reach that goal or gain victory. If the ends justify the means, then she has no qualms about doing what she feels needs to be done.

Whether through political machinations that lead her nation to war or through brute force and showing her strength to secure her position as leader. Akagi will do it all, and she will ensure that others will follow her lead.

Obsessive: Akagi has a lot of love, ready to burst out of her chest and burn the world in a sea of flames~. After the death of Amagi, Akagi's mental state had taken a nose dive. The loss of her beloved sister had molded her mental state, changing it into one that has difficulty accepting loss.

Once she becomes fixated on someone or something, she is unlikely to let go. She will obsess over them, going so far as to stalk and remain by their side as much as possible, never allowing them to leave her sight. Her obsessiveness ultimately leads to her being possessive. She will not let her target go without a fight and must do so. Ideas and thoughts are similarly tricky for her to let go of, and she will pursue them until she is incapable of doing so anymore.

Akagi equates this with love and her general, passionate feelings. While that might be true—Akagi is a very loving person—others who know her well enough might also equate it to her fear of losing those she cares for. As such, she doesn't like the idea of her loved ones being hurt or simply losing them in some other way, never to see them again.

It's that fear of loss that ultimately drives her obsessive and possessive nature, and that is also something that she is unlikely ever entirely to be rid of.

Violent: While Akagi isn’t mainly the sort of person who will outright lash out at someone at the drop of a hat, she does, however, have a habit of threatening those she doesn’t like or feels might be a threat and in the way of her and the target of her latest affections. Something that features most prominently in her voice lines when speaking to the Commander, where she implies having threatened other girls that she might consider getting too friendly with the player. This trend also follows whenever she sorties with Enterprise, where she casually mentions that she isn’t opposed to attacking her current ally in the heat of battle.

As a further note, Akagi is unlikely to act out on those threats, especially after reviving Amagi and Kaga’s sacrifice. She has far more self-control over herself and her emotions, making for a more stable and healthier mindset. Her first response is not to immediately threaten, mock, or plot against anyone who might simply be talking to her latest target.

That said, some things die very hard, and her overall protective nature might still cause her to occasionally lash out, or at the very least, violent and negative thoughts..

POWERS & SKILLS: Water walking – As the spirit of a ship she can float/walk and skate on top of water and move about with a great amount of speed and maneuverability.

Fire/Energy Manipulation - Probably the most prominent and noticeable of her abilities. As both a design and nod to her more kitsune-like features, and the fact that she was on fire during her final battle at Midway, Akagi can summon, manipulate, and control balls of fire, or foxfire. She’s able to create aircraft using both her flames, and her paper figures. Likewise, she’s also able to manifest her rigging through the manipulation of the flames that surround her as well. Using them to take the shape of her landing strip as seen in her official artwork. She can use her airstrip as a means of "launching" or manifesting her aircraft. Alternatively, she has also been shown as having the option to use a mix of her paper figures and fire to also summon up her airwings. Via lighting them on fire and letting them take the form and function of aircraft. In this sense, her airstrip acts a bit like a catapult she has the option of using, while her aircraft are the ammunition, or projectiles.

She doesn't necessarily need her rigging to "launch" her airwings, but it does make doing so easier, as she can simply "load" her paper figures onto it and launch them. As opposed to having to physically ignite them, shape them into aircraft, and toss them. In short, her rigging is ultimately useless without her ability to create her aircraft. Making it more like a decoration, or a cool-looking stovetop than anything.

As for the characteristics of the fire itself, she could use it to create a firestorm, engulfing the area around her to better maximize her destructive abilities (which are enough to annihilate beings capable of destroying whole dimensions). Or as a means of causing shock and awe.

Strength and Stamina – Superhuman strength and stamina. Able to carry around and handle the rigging of the ship she represents, Akagi is far stronger than the average human. While her stamina reflects her being the personification of an aircraft carrier. She can operate and move for long periods of time without rest. That said, she still is susceptible to human needs, such as regular rest, food, and water, and so on.

Connected Conscious - As a carrier, she can connect her consciousness with that of the aircraft she launches. Using them to scout ahead and see what they see. Or direct their actions and movements.

Iron Gut - Canon-wise the girls drink coolant and oil, among other things. This is more of a nod to her machine origins. But it is something she's capable of doing if she so chooses and needs to. With one of the more notable, expendable resources in game being oil- which is needed to send fleets out on sorties. As such, it might act like water, or rations for them as they move out onto their assignments. Shipgirls go brrrrrr….

Near Immortality - Shipgirls exist because of their wisdom cubes and thoughts and beliefs of the humans that created them. Making Akagi near immortal, but not impossible to kill. To the point where she could be capable of carrying on “for all of time”. So long as her wisdom cube remains intact.

In-Game Special Abilities (abilities, specials, and buffs unique to Akagi):

Preemptive Strike - Allows Akagi to increase the speed of her attacks by 50% and can increase the time it takes to enact attacks or abilities.

Crimson God's Protection - Akagi can evade all attacks for 5 seconds.

Both of the above essentially act to make Akagi faster and stronger than normal. They're abilities that she can activate at random, and for short periods of time. Increasing her movement speed, strength, and how quickly she can conjure up her aircraft.

NERFED POWERS:

Strength and Stamina - Brought down to more levels where she can’t necessarily haul around hunks of heavy metal. But is still capable of dragging around a car with relative ease. So, while she doesn't have Superman levels of strength and stamina anymore, she is much closer to an Olympian, or heavy weightlifter. Something more human that your regular person is more capable of performing with some training and determination.

Fire/Energy Manipulation/Aircraft Summon - At around 30%, she should still be able to summon her flames. Using them create small balls of floating flames, shape them into her rigging, or to potentially cause small fires. While her planes will also most certainly need to be nerfed down to levels where she will only be able to create a handful of smaller aircraft at a time and maybe one or two larger ones. Or simply just able to summon smaller versions of her fiery air groups and not full-blown planes.

Likewise, as kind of noted above, the actual power of her flames will be nerfed down to less destructive levels. No longer able to create a sea of flames as before. Instead, only able to summon the above-mentioned orbs, her landing strip, and create small flames.

Near Immortality - Considering in-game mechanics this one will either need to be nerfed or simply discarded. At most she's simply able to better handle serious injuries and sickness than your regular human. In other words, she heals slightly faster, and her body is a little bit more durable. But will otherwise not be capable of simply saying no to potentially life-threatening harm and is fully able to be slapped around. Or find herself in positions that would normally not be harmful to her to suddenly be potentially dangerous.

Iron Gut - I don't think this one need to be nerfed? But given how the game functions it might have to be.

Note: KAN-SEN are capable of performing other things as well, and have been shown capable of dealing with extradimensional threats, giant monsters, giant robots, jets, space ships, batting away reality-destroying energy beams like they're flies, and more. The above list is a generalization for game purposes.
